In October 2002, the Founding Act of the European Space Components Coordination (ESCC) was signed at European Space Agency (ESA) headquarters by the Director General and senior representatives of the national space agencies, industry users (through Eurospace), and European component manufacturers. The primary outcomes of ESCC are the European Preferred Parts List (EPPL), the ESCC Specification System, and the ESCC Qualified Parts List (QPL). ESA’s objective via ESCC is to guide the user towards a limited number of component types, covering as many design applications as possible. The aim is to avoid duplication, achieve cost reduction, and improve purchasing efficiency.
As of October 2023, Positronic is proud to announce that ESA has added Positronic-manufactured SND and SDD Series D-Sub connector products to the EPPL. All part numbers in the link below can be used by manufacturers of spacecraft hardware and related equipment. The product types that have been added to the EPPL have press-fit terminations for PCB installation as well as versions with crimp, removable contacts. In parallel with ESA’s recognition of the quality and performance capabilities of Positronic products, we are pursuing qualification of our entire D-Sub product range, as well as our SP Max, scheduled for completion in early 2024.
